The SsangYong brand is known as the only specialist Korean 4x4 and pick-up truck manufacturer. Established in 1954, SsangYong began life producing busses and trucks for export and domestic markets. Throughout its history, SsangYong has established a strong DNA for creating hardy, reliable products in the automotive sector.
The SsangYong brand was acquired by the KG Group in 2022. Its headquarters is in Pyeongtaek, South Korea, where it operates one of the most up-to-date vehicle manufacturing plants and a research and development centre. With capacity to produce 240,000 vehicles per year, the company is investing in a new factory for pure-electric vehicles.
