USE YOUR MOBILITY ALLOWANCE TO LEASE A BRAND NEW NISSAN, PEUGEOT OR SSANGYONG FROM TRENTON.

The Motability Scheme is a platform which allows you to use your mobility allowance to lease a brand new car which has all the running costs included in the price… Meaning you just pay for fuel! Motability aims to provide the most affordable and convenient way to run a car.

A lease normally lasts for three years and payments are taken every month from your mobility allowance and paid to the Department of Work and Pensions. The lease includes Insurance, Breakdown Cover and Servicing and Maintenance.

Not all customers will drive therefore you can nominate up to two named drivers on your insurance. This often applies to parents/guardians of children ages three or over who may receive an allowance.

At the end of your lease you can either hand your car back or return to at Trenton and select another brand new car!

There are three pricing options for Motability:

• Cars that cost less than your mobility allowance amount, which means you have money left over to keep
• Cars costing the same as our allowance amount
• Cars that cost your allowance amount + an Advance Payment (one off upfront payment)

Also Motability have increased the New Vehicle Payment to £750. Whether you are new to scheme or your current lease has ended and you are ready to renew. You will receive £750 when you take delivery of your new car.

Don't forget, if your current lease is up, you can also receive a further £250 Good Condition Payment when you return your existing car.

ADAPTATIONS

​A wide range of adaptations are available to make your new car perfect for you, many of which come at no extra cost. Adaptations can vary to make driving more comfortable for you, a few examples are; left foot accelerators if you have limited mobility or control in your legs, steering aids if you have limited upper body strength, car boot hoists if your wheelchair/scooter is difficult to lift into your car and even swivel seats if you find it difficult to go from wheelchair to car seat. ELIGIBILITY

To be eligible to apply for and order a new car on the Motability scheme you must have one of the following allowances:

• Higher Rate Mobility Component of the disability living allowance
• Enhanced Rate Mobility Component of personal independence payment
• War Pensioners Mobility Supplement
• Armed Forces Independent Payment

You must have at least 12 months award length remaining on your award to enable you to qualify for a new car under the Motability scheme.
