The Role

The Technician/Workshop Controller is a key role within our aftersales function. As a Technician/Workshop Controller, you will be responsible for carrying out the service and maintenance on a range of vehicles, all whilst delivering the highest levels of customer service and satisfaction. As well as carrying out your own work, you will be the workshop controller for up to seven technicians and will monitor their performances and report to the Service Manager on a regular basis.

Responsibilities

As a Technician/Workshop Controller, you will be responsible for carrying out the service and maintenance on a range of vehicles, all whilst delivering the highest levels of customer service and satisfaction.

As a Technician/Workshop Controller, you will be required to: -

  • have substantial experience servicing, diagnosing, and repairing vehicles.
  • be able to monitor and support other technicians and oversee all work in workshops
  • carry out minor to major mechanical repairs
  • be competent in using diagnostic equipment
  • able to diagnose SRS and ABS systems
  • able to interpret and complete paperwork
  • be able to problem solve and find solutions to difficult situations
  • be able to work using own initiative and as part of a team
  • provide updates and reports to the Service Manager
  • have a friendly and good telephone manner
  • confidently discuss issues with customer
The Person
  • You must possess a relevant formal qualification in Automotive City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3/4 for a minimum of 4 years
  • You must possess your own full set of Tools

Additional requirements

Must hold a full UK Driving licence
