Apprentice Parts Advisor - Grimsby

The Role

The Apprentice Parts Advisor will be an integral member of the Aftersales team. As an Apprentice Parts Advisor you will receive training in Parts and processing and work as part of a team and be responsible for the day to day running of the parts department. Daily duties will include receiving parts into stock, booking of parts to workshop jobs, maintaining stock levels and dealing with retail customers. In time, you will utilise your knowledge of vehicle layout, parts catalogues and computer stock lists, you’ll also ensure our pricing structures are kept up-to-date, and that stock control is always secure and well maintained. You will be the first point of contact both face to face and over the telephone and will be expected to provide excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

  • To greet all customers professionally and quickly in line with company standards, confirming their full requirements before providing advice
  • To pro-actively maintain and develop good relationships with internal and external customers by ensuring their expectations are met and that all parts are fit for purpose
  • To efficiently retrieve parts and monitor stock levels to ensure the ordering function meets customer demands, while maintaining low costs
  • To accurately manage and input customer and parts data into the Pinnacle system and ensure accurate completion of all parts documentation
  • To maintain the highest possible standards in the parts reception area and in your personal appearance
  • To actively achieve agreed parts sales volume targets and maximise incremental sales opportunities. To maximise profit through volume
  • To actively achieve agreed parts profit targets and optimises all sales opportunities. To maximise profit through margin

  • To correctly identify required parts using the manufacturers Electronic Parts Catalogue
  • To ensure the accurate and timely ordering of parts for stock and for internal and external customers
  • Ensure all parts are correctly stored and located
  • To observe all health and safety regulations and COSHH regulations at all times, along with company health and safety policies

The Person

  • Have an interest in learning
  • Have good mechanical awareness or understanding of cars and parts
  • Have excellent attention to detail
  • Is methodical and organised
  • Is IT literate
  • Can communicate with customers both face to face and over the telephone, building rapport and qualifying the customer's requirements.
  • Have a good understanding of the customer's needs and the products that are available to guide them towards the product that will best meet their needs
  • Can encourage the sale of genuine parts and accessories whenever possible, acting on opportunities to sell additional products/services and market current promotions

Additional requirements

Must hold a full UK Driving licence
