How far can I go?
Probably a lot further than you might think! The range of pure electric cars is improving all the time, with new cars released this year which can drive over 150 miles on a single charge with ease. Just think about the last time you drove somewhere, how often do you drive over 100 miles, let alone 150 or more. Even if you do drive long distances, after a few hours of driving you’ll probably need a break anyway, so you can take your break whilst charging the car. The average distance which is driven in the UK is 22 miles per day. 90% of car journeys are less than 15 miles, so electric cars could well be very suitable for you. However, if you do need to regularly drive long distances, then plug-in hybrids (PHEVs) are a great option. These give the benefits of electric driving mode for shorter journeys, together with the advantage of a hybrid engine to provide long-distance range with reduced emissions and fuel consumption.
